Moin,
„Hi everyone,
This post is from the Forums. I have tested it on our ID.3 and it works. Now there is no excuse for VW not to include it as a software update.
As many of us are aware, the 2021-2023 ID.4/Enyaq/ID.3 lacks a native battery preconditioning function, even though the hardware is there to support it. Fortunately, there is now a procedure to actually precondition the battery, which may be a game changer for fast charging in colder climates.
This procedure from VWIDtalk here: https://www.vwidtalk.com/threa…sortby=oldest#post-273521
With the OBDeleven plugged in:
1. Get outside of the car and open car door.
2. Turn on car with button on right side of steering column.
3. Pop the hood (doesn't need to open all the way).
4. Connect to OBDeleven module / car via App (iOS and Android versions of app verified to work).
5. Go to Control Units -> Battery Energy Module (8C)
6. From the menu, go to “Change Service” and switch the connection protocol to "Developer Mode". It didn't seem to work unless you do this. This may require a Pro subscription.
7. Output test -> HV Battery Heater for 300 seconds. Run test and it should say "Active". (Edit: Sometimes you have to slide the slider a few times or slide, press, and hold for it to take.)
8. Close the hood.
9. Continue running the test until battery is warm enough. Once test is running and stops, it's a matter of easily sliding your finger on the start/stop slider in the app again to start the test over.
When tested it heated the battery from 8C to ~20C in about ~25 minutes.“
